Hi! I’m Miranda.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York State.

I have a Master of Social Work Degree from the University of Southern California (2018).

I am currently completing a doctoral program at the University at Buffalo (expected 2026). My research focus is maternal childhood trauma. Specifically, it’s impact on parenting and childhood wellbeing.

I was born and raised in the North Country, and after a few years of adventures, I came back to provide care in my hometown.

In this practice, I focus on the population I feel most called to serve: women who are mothers, women who are involved in the care of children, and women who are contemplating becoming mothers or caring for children.

In 2023, I launched Lightwork Therapy a psychotherapy group practice with clinicians dedicated to helping women heal from trauma. You can find my wonderful team here.

Women who are looking to do the work to heal, so that the next generation doesn’t have to.

I started working with moms after the birth of my first child in 2012. I wanted to provide the support that I felt I had been missing in the first months of my child’s life. I became a Certified Lactation Consultant and provided volunteer support to families in the Kaiserslautern Military Community in Germany.

Upon returning home to the states, I began working locally as a WIC nutritionist. In this role, I worked with moms, babies, and young children every day. When I left this role to begin my career in mental health, I knew that this was the population I ultimately wanted to serve. I could not be more excited to continue this work now with moms, caregivers, and those who hope to be in those roles in the future.

I believe that those who care for children have extraordinary power to change the world.

Breaking cycles involves doing the work that others could or would not. It involves healing wounds that may not even have been originally yours. Ending the patterns that were passed down to you, and creating a brighter future for your family. Not just your kids, but generations from now.

If you’re here, it’s because you are willing to do the work so that the children in your care don’t have to. I am honored that you are considering me to walk that journey with you.
